The Updated Luxury Electric SUV with Enhanced Range and Performance.
The 2025 BMW iX is an updated version of BMW’s flagship electric SUV, featuring enhancements in design, performance, and efficiency. This model introduces a new battery system that increases both range and power, attributed to friction-reducing wheels and greater cell capacity, resulting in a 10% boost in efficiency.
2025 BMW iX Design Updates
While maintaining the distinctive rectangular grille design, the 2025 iX incorporates minor exterior changes, including updates to the headlight array. The vehicle’s dimensions remain similar to the previous model, with a length of 4.95 meters and a wheelbase of 3 meters. The use of aluminum profiles and carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFK) in the body construction helps manage weight, keeping it comparable to other vehicles in its class.
Performance and Efficiency
The 2025 iX lineup offers various specifications, including an M variant with higher horsepower and a sports braking system. All models benefit from revised suspension systems, such as a new hydraulic rear axle, to enhance ride quality. The updated battery technology contributes to increased range and power, with the iX xDrive60 model achieving an EPA-rated range of approximately 340 miles.
Interior Features
The interior of the iX emphasizes a minimalist design by reducing the number of physical controls, relying more on voice commands and hidden features. The cabin includes a curved display for the instrument panel and infotainment system, and the flat-bottom steering wheel adds a sporty touch. The absence of a traditional center tunnel provides additional foot space for rear passengers.
Charging Capabilities
The iX supports fast-charging capabilities, with the xDrive60 model accommodating up to 195 kW via CCS Combo 2, allowing for rapid replenishment of the battery. Additionally, the vehicle offers AC on-board charging speeds of up to 22 kW, depending on the region and charging infrastructure.
The 2025 BMW iX is anticipated to launch in India around August 2025, with an estimated starting price of ₹1.45 crore (ex-showroom). The current model, the BMW iX xDrive50, is priced at ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom).
