The Mahindra XEV 4e is an upcoming electric SUV set to launch in India on June 15, 2025, with an expected starting price of Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) . It is anticipated to be based on the XUV300 platform, featuring a modern design with a closed front grille and unique LED lighting patterns .
Mahindra’s XEV 4e is positioned as a key product in the company’s aggressive push towards electric mobility. It will likely carry a bold, futuristic design language featuring C-shaped LED daytime running lamps, a sleek profile, and aero-optimized alloy wheels to maximize efficiency. The SUV is expected to come with a robust build quality, which is a hallmark of Mahindra vehicles, paired with special touches like contrasting roof options and vibrant exterior colors aimed at a younger, urban audience.
Under the hood, while the XEV 4e will not be focused on outright performance, it will deliver sufficient power for daily city commuting and occasional highway drives. The top variant could produce power outputs close to 150 bhp, offering zippy acceleration while maintaining high energy efficiency. Regenerative braking technology will be integrated, allowing the vehicle to recover energy during deceleration, thereby enhancing its range.
On the safety front, the Mahindra XEV 4e is expected to come equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera system, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and adaptive cruise control in higher trims. Mahindra may also introduce connected car technology, allowing remote monitoring, diagnostics, and over-the-air software updates via a dedicated app.

The XEV 4e is expected to offer two battery options: 34.5 kWh and 39.5 kWh, delivering a range between 250 km and 350 km on a full charge, depending on the battery chosen . The vehicle is anticipated to support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to recharge up to 80% in approximately 30-40 minutes .
Inside, the XEV 4e is projected to feature a premium cabin with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Harman Kardon sound system, and plush seating . Additional features may include a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety .
The XEV 4e is expected to compete with other electric SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Venue EV .
