Maruti’s First All-Electric SUV Promises Performance, Range, and Affordability.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is set to be Maruti’s first all-electric SUV, offering a perfect blend of performance, efficiency, and affordability. As India’s leading car manufacturer enters the EV market, the e-Vitara is expected to be a game-changer in the electric SUV segment, competing with models like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
The e-Vitara is likely to be built on the Global-C platform, which is already used in the Grand Vitara. It is expected to feature a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack, delivering a range of around 500 km on a full charge. With fast-charging support, the battery can be charged up to 80% in under an hour, making it convenient for long-distance travel. The powertrain is expected to produce around 130-150 hp, ensuring smooth acceleration and a refined driving experience.

In terms of design, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to retain the bold and muscular styling of its petrol counterpart, with aerodynamic enhancements, a closed-off front grille, and EV-specific blue highlights. The interior will likely feature a fully digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, premium upholstery, and a spacious cabin.
Safety features are expected to include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and a reinforced body structure for crash protection.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to be priced between ₹20-25 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it a strong contender in the affordable electric SUV market. With Maruti’s trusted after-sales service and extensive charging infrastructure plans, the e-Vitara is poised to be a popular choice for Indian EV buyers.
