July 21, 2025 | New Delhi — British-Chinese automaker Morris Garages (MG) has officially launched the much-anticipated MG M9, a premium electric SUV that promises to redefine luxury, technology, and sustainable performance in the Indian market. Combining futuristic design with state-of-the-art features, the MG M9 is positioned as a flagship offering in MG’s growing electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, aiming to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BYD Seal U, and the Kia EV6.
The launch event, held in Gurugram, showcased the M9 in its full glory—with automotive enthusiasts, media, and industry insiders witnessing the brand’s most ambitious EV yet.

At the rear, a sleek LED light bar stretches across the tailgate, adorned with the signature “M9” badging and the MG logo illuminated at night. It’s futuristic yet functional, bold yet refined—a design language that sets it apart in the crowded EV segment.
Powertrain and Range
Under the hood (or more accurately, beneath the floor), the MG M9 features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup capable of producing up to 360 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 5 seconds, making it one of the fastest EVs in its class.
Equipped with a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the M9 offers a claimed range of up to 610 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle), depending on the variant. Fast-charging capabilities allow the battery to be topped up from 10% to 80% in under 35 minutes using a 150 kW DC fast charger.
MG also offers an optional home charging setup, which includes a 7.4 kW AC wallbox charger with installation support.
Interior: A Lounge on Wheels
Inside the MG M9, luxury and technology blend seamlessly. The cabin features a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 64 color modes, and ventilated vegan leather seats. The dashboard is dominated by a curved 17.5-inch infotainment screen, paired with a secondary digital instrument cluster and an optional AR head-up display.
The voice-controlled AI assistant, developed in partnership with an Indian tech startup, can control everything from air conditioning to navigation to media playback—offering a natural and intuitive user experience.

MG has ensured that the M9 aligns with its global commitment to sustainability. The vehicle is built with 20% recycled materials, features a low-emission manufacturing process, and is part of MG India’s larger vision to achieve carbon neutrality in its production by 2030.

Booking and Availability
Bookings for the MG M9 are now open across all MG dealerships and online via the company’s website. Deliveries are set to begin in September 2025, starting with metro cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
MG also announced a dedicated MG eMobility Concierge Program, providing personalized vehicle orientation, home charger setup, and exclusive access to MG’s EV charging partners across India.
