Nissan’s New Three-Row SUV to Offer Bold Styling, Turbo Power, and Smart Features in a Value-Packed Package for Indian Families.

Nissan is preparing to make a bold return to the Indian compact SUV space with an all-new Nissan B-SUV 7-seater model, set to compete directly with the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700. Designed to cater to the fast-growing demand for three-row SUVs that offer both style and practicality, this yet-to-be-named Nissan SUV is expected to blend Japanese engineering with a high-value proposition tailored for Indian families.

Nissan B-SUV 7-seater Specification:

The Nissan B-SUV 7-Seater will be based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B platform, the same architecture that underpins several global models. For India, Nissan is localizing this platform to ensure competitive pricing, better fuel efficiency, and optimal space management. This platform choice allows the vehicle to strike a balance between compact exterior proportions and a spacious interior layout, making it ideal for both city commutes and highway journeys.

From a design perspective, expect the SUV to carry a bold and contemporary Nissan identity. Spy shots and concept teasers hint at a wide V-motion grille, sleek LED headlights, prominent wheel arches, and a strong beltline that gives it a muscular stance. The rear will feature wraparound tail lamps and a subtly integrated spoiler, adding to its premium SUV appeal. Ground clearance is expected to be generous, around 200mm, to tackle Indian road conditions confidently.

The interior of the Nissan B-SUV 7-seater will likely focus on comfort, tech, and practicality. It is expected to feature a dual-tone dashboard with soft-touch elements, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a floating 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable features could include a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless charging, rear AC vents for the second and third rows, and multiple USB charging points.

In terms of seating, the SUV will offer a 2+3+2 layout, with the third row best suited for children or occasional adult passengers. The second-row seats will likely have a one-touch tumble function for easy access to the rear. Nissan may also offer a captain seat configuration (2+2+3) in higher variants, adding flexibility and comfort for long-distance family travel.

Under the hood, Nissan B-SUV 7-Seater is expected to offer a 1.0-litre or 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine, both BS6 Phase II-compliant. The more powerful 1.3L turbo, already seen in the Nissan Kicks, produces around 154 bhp and 254 Nm of torque, which should be adequate for a seven-seater configuration. Transmission options may include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience.

Nissan is unlikely to offer a diesel engine, in line with its global strategy to phase out diesel powertrains. However, hybrid or mild-hybrid technology may be introduced later to enhance fuel economy. Expect a fuel efficiency figure of around 15–17 km/l, depending on the variant and driving conditions.

Safety is expected to be a key focus area. The SUV is likely to come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard or optional equipment. Nissan could also incorporate ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in top variants, including features like lane-keep assist, auto emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control — to stay competitive in the segment.

As for the pricing, Nissan B-SUV 7-Seater will aim to undercut rivals like the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus to attract value-conscious Indian buyers. The expected starting price is around Rs 12.5 lakh, going up to Rs 18–19 lakh (ex-showroom) for top-end automatic or feature-loaded variants. Nissan may also introduce multiple trims to cater to both private owners and fleet buyers.

Production is expected to take place at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai, ensuring economies of scale and faster rollout. The SUV could also be exported to other emerging markets, enhancing its viability in terms of investment and local development.

This upcoming model could mark an important milestone in Nissan India’s revival strategy, especially as it aims to move beyond the Magnite and reestablish itself as a key player in the utility vehicle space. With Indian buyers showing a strong appetite for large family-oriented SUVs that are also tech-friendly and stylish, Nissan’s B-SUV 7-seater could hit the sweet spot if it delivers the right blend of price, power, and practicality.

In a segment where brand loyalty and feature lists often dictate buying decisions, Nissan will need to back this product with aggressive marketing, competitive after-sales service, and attractive finance options. If executed well, the B-SUV 7-seater could be Nissan’s most important launch in India in recent years.
