Tata Motors to Introduce a 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine in the Harrier – Expected Launch in July 2025.
The Tata Harrier 2025 is set to expand its lineup with the introduction of a petrol variant in 22 February 2025. This move aims to cater to a broader audience by offering an alternative to the existing diesel model.
Engine and Performance
The upcoming petrol-powered Tata Harrier 2025 will feature Tata’s newly developed 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDi) engine. This four-cylinder engine is expected to deliver 170 PS of power at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque between 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. The engine’s aluminum construction ensures a lightweight design, contributing to improved performance and fuel efficiency.
Tata Harrier 2025 Car in Advanced technologies such as variable valve timing, dual cam phasing, a variable oil pump, and an integrated exhaust manifold are incorporated to enhance responsiveness and longevity. Transmission options are anticipated to include both a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox, providing flexibility for diverse driving preferences.

Visually, the petrol variant is expected to mirror the design of its diesel counterpart. Current diesel variants are priced between ₹15 lakh and ₹26.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The introduction of the petrol model is anticipated to attract customers seeking a balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
