Yamaha MT-09 2025
Yamaha’s flagship streetfighter is expected to launch in India by October 2025, 2025 Yamaha MT-09 featuring a 890cc triple-cylinder engine, advanced electronics, and a bold new design.
The 2025 Yamaha MT-09 continues to redefine the naked streetfighter segment with its aggressive stance, advanced technology, and thrilling performance. This latest iteration carries forward Yamaha’s “Dark Side of Japan” design philosophy with sharper aesthetics, a compact new LED projector headlamp, and redesigned body panels that give the bike a muscular, futuristic edge. It looks leaner and meaner than ever, but the updates go beyond skin deep.
At the heart of the 2025 Yamaha MT-09 is Yamaha’s acclaimed 890cc CP3 engine—a liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder powerplant that churns out approximately 117 horsepower and 93 Nm of torque. The engine offers a punchy, torque-rich delivery across the rev range, providing explosive acceleration and a visceral riding experience. For 2025, Yamaha has further refined the ECU mapping for smoother throttle response and more precise power control, making the MT-09 even more enjoyable in urban traffic and open highways alike.
One of the most notable upgrades is the new 5-inch full-color TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. This advanced display offers turn-by-turn navigation, call and notification alerts, and customizable layouts. Riders can sync their devices using Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, adding convenience without compromising the raw riding experience the MT-09 is known for. The interface is intuitive and allows riders to scroll through menus with a new joystick-style switch on the left handlebar.
In terms of rider aids, the MT-09 packs a comprehensive electronics suite including a 6-axis IMU that governs lean-sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, slide control, and wheelie control. There are also multiple riding modes and cruise control for added touring capability. Yamaha has also added an optional bi-directional quickshifter for clutchless gear changes, enhancing both comfort and performance.
The chassis remains lightweight and responsive, featuring an aluminum frame and a fully adjustable suspension setup—USD front forks and a rear monoshock—that has been tweaked for improved handling and feedback. Braking duties are handled by twin 298 mm discs at the front with radial-mount calipers, offering powerful and progressive stopping power.
Overall, the 2025 Yamaha MT-09 is more refined, smarter, and still just as wild at heart. Whether carving through twisties or tearing up the city streets, it promises an exhilarating ride that merges brute power with modern sophistication, making it one of the most exciting motorcycles in its class.
The 2025 Yamaha MT-09 is anticipated to launch in India around July to October 2025, with an expected ex-showroom price ranging between ₹11.50 lakh and ₹12 lakh. This pricing positions it competitively against rivals like the Triumph Street Triple RS and Ducati Monster.
