Hero XPulse 421 , Hero MotoCorp’s Most Powerful ADV Yet Gears Up to Challenge the Himalayan 450 with a Liquid-Cooled 421cc Engine and Touring-Ready Features.
The Hero XPulse 421 is poised to be Hero MotoCorp’s most advanced adventure motorcycle to date, targeting both off-road enthusiasts and long-distance tourers. Expected to launch in India around mid to late 2025, the XPulse 421 is anticipated to be priced between ₹2.40 lakh and ₹3.00 lakh (ex-showroom).
At its core, the XPulse 421 is expected to feature a 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering approximately 45 bhp and 45 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox . This setup aims to provide a balance between highway cruising capabilities and off-road performance.
The motorcycle’s design is anticipated to be rugged and adventure-focused, featuring a tall windscreen, knuckle guards, a split-seat setup for enhanced comfort, and a high-mounted exhaust for better water-wading capabilities . The chassis is expected to be a trellis frame made of high-grade chromium-molybdenum steel, contributing to a curb weight of approximately 154 kg.
In terms of suspension, the XPulse 421 is projected to come equipped with a 37 mm telescopic front fork with anti-friction bush and a 7-step rider-adjustable monoshock at the rear . Braking duties are likely to be handled by a 276 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc, with switchable ABS for added safety.
The motorcycle is expected to ride on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup, shod with dual-purpose tires, enhancing its off-road credentials . Additional features may include a fully digital TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and multiple ride modes such as Touring, Off-road, and Rain.
With a fuel tank capacity of approximately 13.5 liters, the XPulse 421 aims to offer a practical range for long-distance touring. Its ground clearance is expected to be around 178 mm, suitable for tackling varied terrains.
Upon its release, the Hero XPulse 421 will compete with models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, and the upcoming TVS Apache RTX 300 . Hero MotoCorp’s focus on delivering a feature-rich, capable, and competitively priced adventure motorcycle positions the XPulse 421 as a compelling option in the mid-size ADV segment.
