Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid Unveiled with Advanced ISG Technology, Hero MotoCorp Introduces Xoom 160, Xtreme 250R & Xpulse 210, Vida Z Electric Scooter Showcased as Affordable EV Option, Future of Two-Wheelers: Hybrid & Electric Innovations Take Center Stage.
At the Auto Expo 2025, several notable motorcycle unveilings and launches took place, highlighting advancements in hybrid technology, electric mobility, and performance enhancements.
Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid:
Yamaha introduced the FZ-S Hybrid, India’s first hybrid motorcycle, featuring an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that provides a slight electric boost, silent start, and start/stop technology. The bike is powered by a 149cc engine and includes a Bluetooth-compatible TFT display.
Hero MotoCorp Launches:
Hero MotoCorp unveiled four new models:
- Hero Xoom 160: A maxi-scooter equipped with a liquid-cooled 156cc engine producing 14hp and 13.7Nm of torque. It features keyless ignition, a fully digital dashboard, and split-LED headlights.
- Hero Xtreme 250R: This motorcycle debuts Hero’s first 250cc liquid-cooled engine, based on the Karizma XMR’s 210cc motor, offering enhanced performance.
- Hero Xpulse 210: An adventure motorcycle utilizing the 210cc engine from the Karizma XMR, with internal revisions to improve tractability.
- Vida Z Electric Scooter: Positioned as a practical family electric scooter, the Vida Z offers a conventional key start and is expected to be one of Hero’s most affordable electric models.
These introductions at the Auto Expo 2025 underscore the industry’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and catering to diverse consumer preferences in the two-wheeler segment.
